Using PatchRx, you are able to track all Remote Therapeutic Monitoring billing codes in order to bill for remotely monitoring your patients' medication compliance. In this guide, we discuss how you can track each instance for billing in our platform.

CPT® code 98975 ($18)

When patients are set up on PatchRx for the first time, they check off a checkbox agreeing that they have received proper education on how to use the PatchCap and gateway devices. We make it easy to teach your patients how to use the devices by providing an educational video during the setup process. When the patient checks off the box (they are required to do so in order to be added to the platform) PatchRx stores that the patient has agreed that they have received proper education on how to use the devices. 16 days later, when the code is billable, you will be able to export this billing code to the patient's EHR. You will not be able to bill for this code again until 365 days after the initial setup, as this code is only billable once every 365 days.

CPT® code 98977 ($54)

After a patient is set up on PatchRx, we will begin tracking data from their PatchCap on their medication compliance. After 16 days' worth of data has been tracked from the patient, you will then be able to export and upload code 98977 to the patient's EHR. PatchRx tracks the compliance data of the patient for you, making it easy for you to bill for this code. After the first 30 days' worth of data has been collected, this code will reset back to day one of data tracking, to allow you to bill for this code once every 30 days that the patient is active on PatchRx.

CPT® code 98980 ($48)

Using the Billing-To-Do section in each patient's profile, you are able to track your patient monitoring sessions by clicking the "Take Action" button and choosing to either start a live monitoring session or log a monitoring session. PatchRx will automatically track the type of interaction, whether it be a patient interaction or a compliance monitoring session. That way, you will be able to ensure that you are completing the proper activities in order to bill for code 98980. Once you complete 20 minutes of total monitoring time, the take action button will change to a "Send to billing" button that will allow you to export the code to upload into the patient's EHR.

CPT® code 98981 ($39)

Very similar to code 98981, you are able to track your patient monitoring sessions by clicking the "Take Action" button and choosing to either start a live monitoring session or log a monitoring session. Code 98981 will only be accessible to log monitoring sessions after you complete code 98980, ensuring that you do not skip completing billing activities from one code before logging time on the next. Since code 98981 is billable twice per calendar month, you will see two separate 98981 boxes in the billing-to-do section. Once the first cycle of code 98981 is completed and is elligible to be sent to billing, the second cycle of 98981 will become eligible to take action on for additional monitoring sessions. Like code 98980, PatchRx will track whether the interaction is a patient interaction or a compliance monitoring session, and you will be able to export the billing codes to your EHR once the activities are completed.
