Whenever a patient receives a refill on a medication, it is important to refill the medication on PatchRx and update the PatchCap that is associated with that medication to ensure accurate compliance tracking. Follow the steps below to learn how to refill a medication on PatchRx.
Step 1) Navigate to the patient's page that you would like to refill a medication for and identify the medication that you need to refill. To the right of the name and PatchCap status indicator, you should see a link that says "Refill / Archive". Click this link.
Step 2) This should bring you to a modal that gives you the option to either refill or archive the medication. Click on the button titled "Refill Medication".
Step 3) Update any details about the medication that may have changed since the last fill. You have the option to change any field in the medication, including the name.
Please ensure that you enter the serial number of the new PatchCap that the patient will be taking home for their new medication fill. You should not enter the PatchCap serial number that was associated with any previous fill, as PatchCaps should not be reused. Click here to learn more about how to associate a PatchCap with a medication.
Once you fill out all the information, hit the button titled "Save".
Step 4) Confirm that the information is correct with the new PatchCap. This confirmation will show that the old PatchCap is still connected and that the new one is disconnected. Once the patient activates the new cap and the signal is detected by their gateway, the old PatchCap will no longer be tracked. Click the button that says "Refill Medication" to finalize the refill.
